RULES AND CONDITIONS TO TAKE PART IN FERRARA BUSKERS FESTIVAL 2025 (27st -31th August)

2025 Ferrara Buskers Festival’s selection application form.

Ferrara Buskers Festival is a non-competitive event, and all artistic formations are chosen after an accurate selection. It includes two main sections:  INVITED and FRINGE artists. Both sections give life to the festival.

 INVITED

  • INVITED  receive hospitality (food and accommodation) from the organization and will be refunded for their travel expenses.
  • The artists that are selected as invited participants will receive an official invitation letter for all the days of the Festival
  • In case the artists use amplification, these must be adequate to street performances with respectful volumes appropriate for busking.
  • Musicians are selected, but also jugglers and equilibrists in a small percentage
  • Artists are selected for both Ferrara and the Comacchio Preview

FRINGE (other types of artists, e.g. theatre, reading hands...)

  • They can benefit from special conventions for food and accommodation proposed by the Organisation, but they will receive no cost refund.
  • Based on the artists’ availability, organisation will choose which and how many days to assign to the fringe formations.
  • The exhibitions’ number of fringe artists will vary from day to day and according to the availability of the streets’ spots.
  • In case the artists use amplification, these must be adequate to street performances with respectful volumes appropriate for busking.

The Festival gives the opportunity to street artists to perform in the city’s streets, allowing them to pass the hat for donations and selling cds.

No artist or groups receives compensation or cachet.
All buskers can "pass their hat”.

**Starting with this edition, an inexpensive entrance fee has been introduced to help the festival grow and which, we are sure, will not detract from the offerings in the hats but, on the contrary, will enable a more attentive and genuinely interested audience to attend**
